KEY 36

Signal Electric oval base brass key. These keys are hard to date because they were made for many years,
approximately 1915 to 1950 by Signal Electric.
This type of key was made by many American makers and was the work horse of the telegraph companies and railroads.
The design is based on the Bunnell "Triumph" key of the 1880s which is still an American standard for keys.

This key all original but could use a good cleaning.
The brass parts have been coated with instrument lacquer (a clear finish for brass keys)
